This is my entry for the Extreme Expressions contest.

For this I wanted do a different expression, not a cliche like love or sorrow. It took me many tries to decide on the expression I wanted to do, I have so many good outtakes which I had to decide against in the end. So I decided to to sort of an "oh noes" expression. I chose this one because I seem to use this one the most, out of the ones that I tried. For example; just yesterday I left my phone at home... "Oh NO! I left my phone at home!"

I took it in my room with no lighting other than natural light from two windows. I used the window on the left as the main light source, with the one on the right just highlighting my features. I didn't use any filters. I used my 30mm f1.4 lens so I could get a nice shallow DOF.

I picked a brown top so it would almost match my hair, and not distract from my expression. The greenish-blue background is just the colour of my wall.

In photoshop, I brightened the highlights quite a bit, and increased the sauration on my hair. I also dodged my irises a little bit to make the stand out and after I resized it for dA I sharpened around my eyes and fringe a bit, but overall, minimal post processing.

i have a similar face often as quite often i wonder why i do things this expression is great Gen :) good luck in the contest :heart:

the colors are stunning, and your expression is not like those 'sexy portraits' that we usually see.
