Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

20,000 PAGEVIEWS! Thank you so much guys! I appreciate all your support so much! I am so amazed, this is a big milestone for me, wow.


I think it's time for a new journal, because I have a headache. I get so bored with having the same ones. So I shall update you on some things. Even thought you probably don't even read this.'

Okay, so tomorrow, I have two shoots. One for Toby, my good friend who I watch Scully & Molder do their thing with (if you don't know who they are, you must live under a rock - they're from the X-Files), I'm doing some photos for him for school, and some of his mum too. May post some here, but not sure yet.

Also tomorrow I'm shooting Maddie, also an excellent friend of mine. She has dark straight bangs, so I'm experimenting with dark eyeliner and red lips. I've also got some red, white and black paint to play around with while I'm doing that shoot. I also will be doing some polaroid shots with her too, and I am so excited about those!

And then hopefully next weekend I'll be shooting Nikita, a stunning girl in my year at school. She's tall, with long dark tresses and legs that go on forever... Basically she looks like a model. She's gorgeous. Anyway, with her I am going to play around with the idea of night shots with flash and sort of paparazzi shots. I think that will be fun, driving around Bowral shooting with her.

Now, finally that is all for now. Goddamn I'm so busy!

Oh wait, there's more. I have a new-found love... Polaroids. I have been buying film so much it is going to make me a homeless person soon! It's so damn expensive... But thanks to The Impossible Project there will be film back on the market next year! Wooo! I'm so excited!
